Munich - Despite winter temperatures, die-hard surfers ride the famous Munich Eisbach wave every day.

Now there was an accident in which a surfer was injured.

According to the fire brigade, the fall happened on Tuesday, January 25, at around 12:20 p.m.

When the emergency services arrived, the injured person had already been pulled out of the water onto a narrow concrete edge by other surfers, according to the fire department.

However, the rescue was difficult because a high metal fence made it difficult to get to the injured person.

A vehicle from the fire brigade was therefore alerted by the rescue service.

Upon arrival, the fire brigade commander decided to remove the fence with technical equipment.

At the same time, he alerted a turntable ladder as an alternative means of rescue to the scene.

After an element of the fence was removed, the injured surfer was treated by the rescue service and then transported to a Munich clinic.
