Otterfing - 2021 was a difficult year financially for the municipality of Otterfing - not only because of Corona.
Chamberlain Peter Kirschenhofer now took stock.
In the Otterfingen municipal council, Treasurer Peter Kirschenhofer recently reported on the annual accounts for the 2021 budget. According to this, the necessary withdrawal of around 3 million euros from the general reserve will melt them down to 2.5 million euros at the turn of the year.
However, important investments were also made with securing the water supply, procuring a new fire engine and renovating the school gymnasium.
In summary, Kirschenhofer and Mayor Michael Falkenhahn described the budget as solid.
"The financial year 2021 is probably the most difficult financially in the past 20 years," Kirschenhofer agreed with the committee for his presentation.
It wasn't quite as bad as feared, but the district levy was higher than ever at 3.67 million euros.
This was due to the record tax year 2019, when around 3.25 million euros in trade tax flowed into the municipal coffers.
Careful planning and austerity measures
This year it was only about 1.4 million euros.
The reason for this was not primarily Corona, but the emigration of one of the largest taxpayers to date.
"The tax losses caused by Corona can probably be absorbed by the new Corona trade tax equalization by the state of Bavaria," explained Kirschenhofer.
According to Kirschenhofer's report, with this and through careful budget planning and austerity measures, the withdrawal from the general reserve originally planned to balance the budget was reduced by almost 178,000 euros to a good 3 million euros.
Some investments were made like this:
These included the purchase of a new fire engine for EUR 283,500 and investments in water supply for EUR 1.51 million.
Furthermore, the basic renovation of the school gym after water damage cost 650,000 euros.
In addition, around 528,000 euros had to be paid for the development of Hienlohestraße and the transfer fee for the crossing agreement with Deutsche Bahn, with low-interest development loans from the LfA-Förderbank Bayern and Bayern-Labo for both the infrastructure measures in the area of water supply and the complete renovation of the school gym could be retrieved.
"The expenditures made were unavoidable in order to avoid a possible investment backlog in the future," Kirschenhofer stated, summing up: "With the necessary caution and budget planning and management of budget funds that do justice to the situation, it will also be possible in the future to improve the financial situation of the municipality of Otterfing to keep stable.”
