Parsdorf industrial park: After BMW, Tesla is now coming

The American manufacturer of electric cars, Tesla, wants to open a service center in Parsdorf.

The American electric car manufacturer Tesla is settling in the Parsdorf industrial park.

This was announced by Mayor Leonhard Spitzauer (CSU).

A service center is to be set up.

– After BMW, the community of Vaterstetten will soon have another global brand from the automotive sector on site.

As Mayor Leonhard Spitzauer (CSU) announced on Tuesday evening in a committee of the municipal council and then via Facebook, Tesla will settle in the Parsdorf industrial park - in an existing building of the Peschke printers at Taxetstraße 4.

As Spitzauer said when asked by the Ebersberger Zeitung on Wednesday, the US manufacturer of high-end electric cars is planning a “service center”.

Essentially, vehicles would be repaired and delivered there, and there would also be a "showroom" in which the latest models would be presented.

Distribution is not planned, Tesla runs it over the Internet.

Mayor: "We are happy to be on board with future electromobility technology."

Parsdorf is a very good location for many industries, emphasizes the mayor.

In terms of transport, the business park is very centrally located on the motorways.

That was probably an important argument for Tesla.

In addition, the fact that the existing 6,000 square meter commercial unit of the Peschke printing company already had a building at its disposal played a role.

The municipality itself only has two smaller plots of land in Parsdorf.

It is still unclear what will happen after that, said Spitzauer, who is delighted with the settlement of Tesla: "In addition to BMW, we now have another global brand in the automotive sector in our community.

With BMW's battery cell production and Tesla's large service center, we are happy to be on board with future electromobility technology."

BMW has set up a battery research plant in Parsdorf.

Here, new plant technologies are tested and innovative production processes tried out.

According to BMW, the aim is to optimize the near-series production of battery cells in terms of quality, performance and costs.
