Meter-high flames erupt from a couple's apartment, and an 88-year-old can just escape onto the balcony.
Any help comes too late for his wife.
A neighbor reports terrible details.
Stuttgart - It is a terrible drama that took place in Stuttgart on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
A fire breaks out in an apartment in an apartment building, witnesses report the incident to the fire brigade at around 9:20 a.m.
An 88-year-old man can be rescued by emergency services, but any help comes too late for his wife.
She is said to have fallen victim to the flames on the sofa.

For reasons that are still unknown, the fire drama broke out in the apartment. When emergency services arrived at the scene, the flames were already shooting out of the apartment. An 88-year-old man was saved with a turntable ladder, according to information from the

he was able to save himself on the balcony. As the Stuttgart police reported on Tuesday, the pensioner was taken to a clinic. According to official information, a previously unidentified body was discovered in the apartment.

reports, the lifeless person is said to be the man's 86-year-old wife.
Accordingly, the pensioner is said to have saved himself on the balcony, but his wife was unable to escape the flames.
"I can't get in anymore.
My wife is on fire on the sofa,” the 88-year-old is said to have called out to a neighbor across from

.
The neighbor then tried to break open the apartment door, but failed.

As a neighbor explained to the newspaper, the pensioner's wife was severely disabled after several knee operations.
The couple lived together in the apartment for around 60 years.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is said to be ongoing.
Last week there was a fatal incident at a service area on the A45 in Hesse.
Witnesses reported an explosion.
Two people died.
