Plans unearthed: Wirthsfeld should finally be connected to the B11

In the municipality of Baierbrunn, many a project has been left undone in recent years - including the road that is supposed to lead from the B11 to the sports field.

The municipality now wants to resume planning for this, and the SPD had submitted a corresponding application to the municipal council.

– The topic was discussed for almost an hour.

There were complaints from all sides that nothing had gone ahead in the matter, that the street had long since been marked in the development plan and thus laid the foundations on paper, so to speak.

It cannot be that the administration "never heard anything" about the project, said Anton Ley (SPD).

That's exactly what it was about for a while, that the project somehow disappeared from the radar at City Hall.

However, there is a willingness to resume the project, Mayor Patrick Ott (ÜWG): "We are happy to get back into planning." That was then decided, with two dissenting votes.

“We wanted to shake up the committee with our application.

I can't expand a center, and I'm not thinking about the street," said former mayor Christine Kammermeier (SPD), alluding to the diverse plans that the municipality is pursuing for the area around the sports and civic center.

The whole thing must now be pushed forward at full steam.

Meanwhile, it is unclear at the moment how much the development will cost and how exactly the road will be executed.

Various variants had already been discussed under Mayor Barbara Angermaier from the BIG parliamentary group, which no longer exists. Originally, it was assumed that there would be a roundabout that could be used to control turning in the direction of Wirthsfeld.

At the time, around 200,000 euros in costs that would be borne by the community were under discussion.

Now the building authority has quickly estimated the cost of the project at 1.4 million.

Relieve local roads

At the meeting, Christine Zwiefelhofer (non-affiliated) and with her Tanja König from the Greens pleaded for the development to be planned in an uncomplicated manner.

König said that even a parking space that can be reached from the B 11 would be sufficient.

You don't have to be able to drive your car anywhere and anytime.

The connection of Wirthsfeld to the B 11 is also important because it would relieve the traffic on the roads around the station.

The “Denk mit!” day care center next to the sports and community center alone is approached twice a day by more than a hundred people.

According to the SPD application, the traffic situation is "a major source of danger," especially for children.
