Russia's representative to the European Court of Human Rights, Mikhail Vinogradov, reiterated that his country was not involved in the downing of a Malaysian Boeing plane over Donbass in 2014, calling for the charges against Russia to be dropped.
"The warhead that shot down a Boeing 777 over Donbass in 2014 was launched from the territory controlled by the Ukrainian armed forces," Vinogradov was quoted as saying today during the hearings, adding: The warhead that shot down the plane, according to the joint investigation team, belongs to the Ukrainian armed forces. .
He noted that before the disaster, Ukraine had not stopped artillery and air strikes.
Vinogradov accused the Dutch court in The Hague of obstructing Russia's investigation into the crash of MH17.
It is noteworthy that the Boeing plane belonging to the Malaysian Airlines was shot down over eastern Ukraine in July 2014 while flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, and the disaster resulted in the deaths of 298 people. The investigation team accused Russia of involvement in the downing of the plane, which Moscow categorically denied.
