"We're making good progress with the construction work," Mayor Lorenz Angermaier recently drew a satisfactory conclusion from the municipal council about the progress made on the new kindergarten in Grünbach.
If the weather, the companies for the various trades and the flow of materials continue to play their part, the new day-care center should be able to open in September.
Grünbach – As is well known, at the beginning it was a lengthy decision-making process as to what should happen to the former Adlerhorst site next to the Grünbach church and below the tennis courts.
But now everyone is happy that the little community members will soon be able to move into a new house.
Because the children's home in Bockhorn has long since reached its capacity limits.

"The contracts for all work to be carried out have now been completed, after all with a total volume of around 2.5 million euros," states Heinz Schoder, manager of the municipal administration.
"However, by the time everything is finished, in addition to the building, there are also outdoor areas and parking spaces to be created, we will probably end up with around 3.8 million euros."
At the moment, according to Schoder, all the windows have been installed, and soon, among other things, the installation of the heating and the facade cladding with larch wood are planned.
As soon as all roof panels are on the building, there should be a lifting ceremony, but only on a small scale because of the pandemic.
Two kindergarten groups with a total of 50 children can then move in in the autumn.
You will find rooms on two levels as well as access to the spacious garden. On the upper floor there is also a gallery on the outside of the building, from which two stairs lead into the garden - almost as emergency exits in the event of fire.
Inside the new building there is also an elevator to transport play equipment from the basement upstairs.
For a long time, the municipal council also had to deal with the issue of parking spaces.
Because the kindergarten staff, a care team of four people including the head, needs car parking spaces as well as parents who bring and pick up their children.
In order to be able to create enough spaces, a parking strip is now being created along the way to school opposite the kindergarten, further parking spaces are located upstairs at the tennis courts of TC Grünbach.
The association has given up one of its places for this, and its members can now change their clothes in their own room on the ground floor of the kindergarten, in exchange for the community.
"The new kindergarten will probably relieve our overall situation significantly," says Schoder happily.
"Because there are currently two crèche groups and 80 children in two open kindergarten groups in the Bockhorn children's home: They can choose their group according to their taste.
We are considering whether we will have an additional crèche group in Bockhorn, with another twelve small children.
However, the two new kindergarten groups in Grünbach will be run as so-called closed groups,” explains Schoder.

Registration for places in Grünbach is already being processed by the management of the Bockhorn children's home, the registration deadline for the 2022/2023 kindergarten year has been brought forward to Thursday, February 10th.
Because with the start of the new facility, an appropriate distribution of the children between the two houses Bockhorn and Grünbach must be ensured.
The municipality asks parents to say now in which kindergarten they want to place their child.
If the places in the Bockhorn children's home are all occupied, places will be offered in Grünbach.
Finally, there is the “Hofzwerge” nature kindergarten in the Flanning district of the municipality, with 13 places.
There is currently no staff for the new kindergarten, an issue that occupies many district municipalities.
What is certain, however, is that the institution is sponsored by the Catholic Church, and the Church Foundation of the Birth of Mary Wartenberg is responsible.
She set up the Strogental day-care center network “to ensure the future viability of church institutions at parish level”.
Bockhorn has already signed an operator agreement.
Head of administration Franziska Götz, who previously worked in the human resources department of the archbishop's ordinariate, will in future be responsible for four day-care centers in Wartenberg, Langenpreising, Bockhorn and from September also in Grünbach.
