The epidemic is raging, and pet smuggling is rampant. In the past, some owners entrusted them with inhumans and mistrusted illegal pet immigration agencies. As a result, "birth and separation" became "death". Last year, there were many transport tragedies in Hong Kong, and many pets were buried in the sea.

Recently, Miss Ying, a Chinese student, planned to ship her pet "Tomato" from the United States to Shenzhen, and entrusted a company called "Xiangyou Pet Shipping Agency" to arrange related matters. Unexpectedly, "Tomato" was lost by the agency after arriving in Hong Kong. It was two days late to inform her, which made her very dissatisfied.

When Ms. Ying accepted "Hong Kong 01", she pointed out that the agency had stated that the "tomato" would be kept in a regular pet store, but later found out that it was taken care of by a friend of the agency, and revealed that "no one wants to take the dog out of the country", which made her question. Whether the intermediary company transported pets through legal channels, it directly reprimanded the intermediary for being irresponsible and the dog was lost in another place, hoping that enthusiastic citizens would help to find it.

Miss Ying, a dog owner currently living in the United States, was originally scheduled to return to China in May this year, so she found a pet consignment agency called "Xiangyou", and planned to ship the pet dog "Tomato" back to the mainland before leaving for China. Reunited with your dog.

In an interview with "Hong Kong 01", Ms. Ying pointed out that she purchased a flight ticket from New York, USA to Hong Kong for "Tomato" at her own expense, while the intermediary charged 15,000 yuan for the consignment fee to transport the "Tomato" to Shenzhen.

Miss Ying put the dog on the flight on December 30 last year, and the "Tomato" was picked up by the agent arranged by the agency after arriving in Hong Kong on December 31.

Ms. Ying continued to point out that the agency stated that the "tomato" would be placed in a regular pet store in Hong Kong for foster care, and it was expected to be shipped back to the mainland on January 5.

Unexpectedly, the intermediary later pointed out that there was no one willing to take the dog out of the country to Shenzhen, and frankly said: "It may take a few days."

During the waiting period, Miss Ying asked the agency to send a clip of "Tomato" on January 10 because she missed "Tomato", but the agency agreed but did not follow up.

Until January 12, the agency informed Miss Ying that "Tomato" was lost in Hong Kong.

Miss Ying pointed out: "The consignment agency said that someone else was in Shenzhen, and my friend in Hong Kong walked the dog. My friend went to the public toilet and tied the dog outside alone, but it was lost." It turned out that the agency did not put "tomato" as a regular pet shop, and just leave it to a friend to take care of.

Ms. Ying asked why the other party didn't notify the other party immediately. The agent only expressed the hope that they would try their best to retrieve the "tomato" within two days, but unfortunately it was unsuccessful.

Ms. Ying immediately asked the other party where she lost her dog, and asked the other party to provide the exact house number and contact information. However, the intermediary did not provide the address, and refused to provide the contact information of the dog walker on the grounds that it was inconvenient to disclose private information.

After repeated questioning by Ms. Ying, the agency sent a "dog search revelation", indicating that the staff were still distributing leaflets in an effort to find the lost dog.

And Ms. Ying finally learned from the dog-hunting revelation that "Tomato" was lost near Nau Hom Village in Yuen Long.

After many days, there was still no news of "Tomato", and the intermediary company expressed its willingness to refund the consignment fee, the cost of Ms. Ying's purchase of pet dogs, and the cost of health certificates.

Due to the ravages of the new crown pneumonia epidemic around the world, shipping has been greatly affected. Many unscrupulous intermediaries have used water smuggling methods to transport a large number of pets back to the mainland for profit. As a result, many pet cats and dogs were drowned.

Ms. Ying confessed that she did not know about these smuggling cases beforehand, and only heard the news after the "Tomato" went missing.

She denounced the agency for being irresponsible, and blamed herself for not staying with Tomato.

We also hope that the people of Hong Kong will help to pay attention to the whereabouts of "Tomato".
