Syria and Belarus discuss strengthening economic, industrial and trade relations

The Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Suhail Abdel Latif, discussed with Dmitriy Bantos, Chairman of the Belarusian State Committee for Military Industries, head of the Belarusian side in the Joint Governmental Committee, ways to strengthen relations between the two countries in all fields, especially economic, industrial and trade, and how to raise them to the level of distinguished political relations.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed preparations for the meetings of the eighth session of the joint government committee, which will be launched today, and the expected results.

For his part, Minister Bantos affirmed his country's continuous support for Syria in its war against terrorism and in various international forums, praising the depth of friendship relations that bring together the two countries' leadership and people, pointing to his country's desire to strengthen its relations with Syria in all fields.

In turn, Minister Abdel Latif referred to a distinguished historical friendship relationship between the two countries at all levels, stressing his country's support for Belarus in the face of the unjust Western attack against it, and the need to make all possible efforts from both sides to enhance cooperation relations and reach the required level under the directives of the leaderships of the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Fadi Al-Salti Al-Khalil, Chairman of the Planning and International Cooperation Authority, and Muhammad Al-Omrani, Syria's ambassador to Belarus.
