A Tesla is not the ultimate for all e-car fans: A former Tesla disciple recently exchanged his Model S for an Audi e-Tron - and is enthusiastic.

Austin - "I traded in the Model S for an e-Tron Chronos.

I couldn't be happier now!" Writes the American Reddit user "Deranged Medic" on the platform.

His post quickly generated a lot of attention within the Reddit community.

Reddit user: "Tesla not up to date"

When asked by other users, he explained his change in more detail: "For me, the equipment, the workmanship and the design were decisive.

While the Tesla* can't be beat for performance and range, I mainly drive around town and near where I live.

Once the wow factor of the Tesla performance wears off, for me the design and comfort just wasn't what I would have expected for a car in this price range.

Sitting down in the e-Tron definitely feels like sitting in a luxury car again.

For me, the Tesla just wasn’t up to date.”

Harsh criticism of Tesla: “Cannot trust software”

The user went on to say that he prioritized comfort over range.

As a result, the e-tron from Audi* better suits his needs.

But it wasn't just the lack of luxury that bothered him about the Model S. The Tesla autopilot was faulty for him.

"I didn't want to wait anymore for fully autonomous driving and frankly I can't trust it

(note: the autopilot)

given so many other bugs in the software."

He is not alone in this opinion: Tesla is coming under pressure precisely because of its flawed system for fully autonomous driving.

This is currently in the beta version and has numerous shortcomings, such as the expert for autonomous driving Brad Templeton.

"I have a lot of respect and admiration for Elon Musk, so I'm sorry to say that, but... it's awful.

I mean really bad," Templeton said in a YouTube video.

For the Reddit user himself, however, it was not the software that was decisive, but the comfort.

After a long drive, he noticed that this was more important to him than range or performance.
