In some cases, the evaluation of PCR tests at the Miesbach test center took longer than the maximum limit of 48 hours actually guaranteed by the laboratory.
A reader waited three days for his result.
District – After readers of our newspaper reported that the evaluation of their PCR tests at the Miesbach test center took longer than the maximum 48 hours contractually guaranteed by the Eurofins laboratory, the district office announced details of the runtime data on request.
The most important finding: The authority only receives the average evaluation time of all PCR swabs from Eurofins on a daily basis.
Even if this is well under 48 hours, some results can take a lot longer.
The district office is rarely informed by citizens because Eurofins offers its own hotline, said a spokeswoman.
“Hardly any people contacted the authority because of delayed tests”.
Test center Miesbach: PCR results sometimes after more than 48 hours
As reported, the district office announced last week that despite the increased number of tests, the results for PCR swabs at the test center continue to reach people within 48 hours.
As evidence, it gave the average transmission time for Sunday, January 16, as 29 hours and for Monday, January 17, as twelve and a half hours.
The 48-hour limit seems to be correct most of the time, but not always: A reader of our newspaper was checked off on Wednesday, January 12, and only received his result on the following Saturday, after 71 hours - positive.
The spokeswoman for the district office could not say whether such terms constitute breaches of contract: the contract exists between the Free State and Labor.
"We are not aware of any individual terms of the contract."
