The Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior announced that a number of roads in the governorates of Damascus Countryside, Hama, Lattakia, Tartous and Quneitra are impassable or difficultly passable due to the accumulation of snow and ice formation.
The Traffic Department indicated in its bulletin this afternoon that all the main roads in the Damascus countryside are passable, except for the “Arna-Darbel” road, closed due to the accumulation of snow, the (Arna-Al-Raymah-Baqassem-Qatana-Issem-Qal’at-Jandal) road and the (Qatana-Kafr Qouk Rakhla) road. All roads in the Zabadani area are impassable due to the accumulation and snowfall.
In Hama governorate, all roads in the governorate are impassable except for the roads (Jorin Slunfeh), (Al-Qaranda-Ain al-Krum), (Shataha - Jubbet Bargal) and (Al-Qardah - al-Ghab) roads are impassable due to the accumulation of snow. Due to the formation of ice and snow accumulation.
All roads in Lattakia Governorate are passable except for the roads leading to (Slenefa district - Broadcasting Station) and (Jobat Bargal-Al-Ghab) road and (Harf Al-Masitra-Al-Sha'ra-Al-Ghab) road and (Al-Markbah-Maqamat Bani Hashem) road is impassable due to the accumulation of snow and in the Jableh area there is a road (Beit Yashout - Al-Ghab) is difficult due to snowfall, and the roads (Beit Yashout - Al-Manizla), (Al-Dalia - Ma'arin - Batmosh) and (Beit Yashout - Basheli) are impassable due to the accumulation of snow, and the (Al-Dalia-Jableh) road is passable due to the accumulation of snow.
In Tartous Governorate, all roads are passable except for the road (Broadcasting Station - Qemat al-Nabi Saleh) with difficulty due to the formation of snow.
In Quneitra Governorate, all roads are passable except for the road (Jabbata Al-Khashab-Tarangeh-Ain Al-Tineh-Hadhar) road, which is impassable due to the accumulation of snow.
The Traffic Department advised drivers to exercise caution during the prevailing weather conditions, especially during the formation of snow or the occurrence of frost, fog and precipitation, and the need to ensure the technical readiness of the vehicle from the effectiveness of the brakes, windshield wipers, fog eliminators, front and rear lights, vehicle battery, tire safety, adherence to the signs that specify speeds and gradually reduce speed on Turns and slopes, maintain a true safe distance with other vehicles, and avoid distracting behaviors such as using a mobile phone or reading.
