Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed today that US threats to freeze assets and impose sanctions on the Russian leadership are not "painful" but are politically devastating.
And RIA Novosti news agency quoted Peskov as saying in press statements: US members of Congress and senators who do not fully know the subject talk about freezing assets, bank accounts, private real estate, etc. .. In fact, they do not have enough knowledge and experience on this subject.
In fact, according to our law, representatives of the high command and officials have long been prohibited from “acquiring assets abroad,” so such formulation of the issue is not at all painful for anyone representing the top management, Peskov added.
Peskov said earlier during an interview with CNN that the proposed sanctions in the United States against the Russian leadership may lead to the termination of relations between the two countries.
US President Joe Biden has confirmed that he does not rule out imposing sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin personally in the event of an escalation over Ukraine.
