Garmisch-Partenkirchen's Deputy Mayor Claudia Zolk is the social face of the market town.

But the workload cannot be managed with the previous part-time arrangement.

For this reason, the municipal council has now decided to increase the position to a full position.

But there was also fundamental criticism of the personnel.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen – The finding from the town hall is clear: the three-quarters position that was previously intended for the office of second mayor is far from sufficient to fulfill all the tasks and responsibilities. Claudia Zolk (CSB), who primarily takes care of social issues, actually only has 30 hours per week available for the deputy post.

February Zolk now has a full position like her predecessor Wolfgang Bauer (CSU).

The activity is well paid: It is the final level of salary group A15.

When she took on the deputy job, Zolk recalls, she quickly noticed that the number of hours calculated at the beginning was not enough.

Above all, the investment backlog that has to be worked off in the market costs a lot of time.

"I'm at City Hall every day," she explains.

Your insurance agency wants to continue operating Zolk.

She doesn't see any problems in reconciling the two professional pillars.

Because: "I can organize my time freely," reports Zolk.

And she would also have employees at the agency to help.

Claus Gefrörer (CSU) was satisfied with the female duo at the top of the town hall in the municipal council debate: “We expected that both mayors would work well together.

That has been confirmed," he said.

But there were also critical voices.

The whole story came up again.

For the Greens in particular, the topic is a political issue – and contains explosive material.

Background: The eco-party emerged in the 2020 local elections with five seats as the second-strongest parliamentary group (after the CSU) and claimed the vice-mayor's office at the time.

Group leader Dr.

Stephen Thiel.

However, only a 100 percent position came into question for the physicist.

But as is well known, the power gamble turned out differently: At the start of the session, the municipal council decided in favor of the slimmed-down three-quarters post – and for the CSB representative Zolk.

Since then, the Greens' wounds have still not healed.

"I think that's unfair.

That doesn't do justice to the will of the voters," complains municipal councilor Alexandra Roos-Teitscheid.

Her suspicion: the 75 percent cut was only chosen to get rid of the Greens and send them to the opposition when the government was being formed.

Because these are probably too uncomfortable, believes the local politician.

The current constellation enables the CSU mayor to govern more easily.

Lilian Edenhofer got into the same horn at the meeting: "It was planned to keep the Greens away from the town hall," said the lone fighter of the Free Voters.
