Wüst: more corona patients in the hospitals again

According to Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst, the number of corona patients in the hospitals in North Rhine-Westphalia is increasing significantly again.

The number of corona patients had increased by 50 percent within two weeks, said the CDU politician in the state parliament in Düsseldorf on Wednesday.

There are less severe courses, especially in people with immunization.

Düsseldorf - That shows one thing above all: Vaccination protects.

But it is also clear that Omikron is significantly more contagious than the Delta variant.

That is why there are extremely high numbers of infections throughout Germany.

It was clear from the beginning that the spread of this corona variant could not be prevented, but only delayed.

That has been successful so far.

Valuable time had been gained to prevent Delta and Omikron from double burdening the hospitals.
