When checked at A8: police stop car - not all occupants have papers
On Tuesday, January 25, officials stopped a car with four occupants at the Seehamer See motorway parking lot.
One of the passengers, a 38-year-old Kosovar, was able to show his residence permit.
According to the police report, the rest of the quartet - including the driver - had no papers for a stay in the Federal Republic.
This is not without consequences: The federal police are now accusing the 38-year-old of smuggling in foreigners, even though he was only traveling in the car as a passenger and with valid papers.
All four occupants were arrested.
Border control on A8: police see through trick by passenger
According to the first findings of the officials, the man at the wheel of the car registered in Germany had not been behind the wheel for too long. As it turned out, there had probably been a driver change shortly before the German-Austrian border. Apparently, the first driver did not want to give the impression that he was bringing several migrants to Germany. But the police saw through the interplay - and arrested the suspected smuggler in the passenger seat.
Investigations showed that the Kosovar smugglers had probably already been officially registered in Hungary or Croatia in the past.
A few days ago, the men were also rejected from Slovenia.
The police confirm: "It cannot be ruled out that they were then taken away by the 38-year-old compatriot."
The Rosenheim federal police reported each of the three to an illegal entry attempt.
The men then had to leave the country again.
They were handed over to the Austrian police.
The provisionally arrested passenger was allowed to start his journey home after the check.
He will probably soon have to answer for smuggling.
