For years, Voice of Duty players have been accustomed to getting a new game every October-November, and Activision have managed to maintain exemplary consistency since the second game in the series in 2005. The distributor has managed to do so because it has divided the brand between 3 different keys working in rotation Among them: Sledgehammer Games, Raven Software, and Treyarch.

The situation where three keys work on the titles in rotation is not necessarily ideal, as they meet fixed schedules that do not necessarily give them breathing space or times to polish important aspects of the games, and players have experienced this in recent years with bugs and glitches that plague the games. The second of Vanguard.

We're now starting to feel the effects of Microsoft's future acquisition of Activision-Blizzard last week, and a new Bloomberg site report suggests that company executives are talking to each other in closed conversations and considering stopping releasing a new Voice of Duty game each year.

According to two sources close to the issue the issue has arisen and although no final decision has been made yet, there is an understanding that releasing the games at a slower pace will not make the brand disgusting and strengthen the brand in the eyes of games, especially after its weak launch.

If the decision on the subject is positive, it will probably only be made next year or later, since this year Activision is building on Modern Warfare 2 which will continue to strengthen the series and keep it alive.

This will allow Activision's keys not only to polish the games properly before they are released, but also to be released and finally working on new titles that are not necessarily a voice of duty.

Now that Microsoft is in the advanced stages of acquiring Activision-Blizzard, quite a few players are wondering what will happen to the Voice of Duty series and the network has heard claims that the series will become exclusive to the Xbox and various consoles that Microsoft offers, such as the Game Pass.

Phil Spencer, CEO of the Xbox division, commented on the matter and claimed that Microsoft has no intention of dismantling player communities and transferring them from one platform to another, namely PlayStation and Xbox. Even before the acquisition, Sony signed an exclusivity agreement with Activision and Voice of Duty Games. And the PlayStation players got unique content, like the zombie mode of the series.

It was also recently reported that Activision is committed to releasing the next three Voice of Duty games for the PlayStation consoles, but after that Microsoft will be able to decide for itself on the brand's future.

Given Phil Spencer's latest statement, apparently Microsoft has not changed anything in terms of the availability of a voice of duty on Sony's consoles.
