The annual state ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the helicopter disaster will be held today (Wednesday) at Har Vagi High School in Kibbutz Dafna.
The helicopter disaster is the largest military disaster, in which 73 fighters were killed in a collision between two storm helicopters on their way to the outposts of southern Lebanon on the night of February 4, 1997. The annual high school seminar is attended by young officers born after the disaster.
Defense Minister Bnei Gantz and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi will participate in the state ceremony.
25 years have passed since that night and the memories remain etched in the hearts of the families.
