Wolfratshausen - First assessment of the "Ice Age" at the Floßlände.

From November 28th, 2021 to January 9th, 2022, an artificial ice surface at the old raft landing stage invited people to ice skate.

Due to corona-related restrictions, the number of visitors was lower than in the previous three "ice ages".

Third mayor Annette Heinloth (Greens) recently shared the balance sheet with the members of the culture committee.

"This year's ice age was certainly an absolute highlight for many families and children in this dreary Corona period," says the final report.

Many visitors would have thanked the local staff for carrying out the project, which was not uncontroversial in the city council.

However, the implementation of various government regulations and rules discouraged some people from visiting, especially at the beginning of the Ice Age.

In the beginning, there was a strict 2G+ regulation even in the open air.

Damage to property was noticed negatively

After two weeks, this was downgraded to a 2G regulation for leisure facilities and open-air events, so that the ice surface was well occupied in the end.

Damage to property was noticed negatively this winter.

In some cases, deep scratches in the ice became noticeable, which had to be repaired after the operating times.

In addition, the ice surface had to remain closed for four days due to the weather.

The number of injuries was limited, apart from "a few small plaster pains".

Reason for satisfaction was the utilization of school classes in the mornings and the joy of children and young people who use the leisure facilities in the afternoons.

All in all, the Ice Age registered 5,287 visitors, of whom "only" 1,275 were adults.

Ice stock sport was only possible twice this season, the ice disco for young people had to be canceled due to the occasion.
