The EPD stated that this year, it plans to add two district collection points under "Green in Districts", "Green in Wan Chai" and "Green in Sai Kung", to facilitate the public to participate in the recycling of peach blossoms.

The recovered peach blossoms will be converted into different recycled products together with other garden wastes in Y·PARK "Lin District", which is convenient for reuse, recycling or upcycling into decorations and works of art.

All participants who recycle peach blossoms at Y·PARK or the "Green Zone" recycling station will be issued an electronic certificate; and participants who transport peach blossoms to the "Green Zone" recycling station for recycling will receive a small gift.

This project is limited to recycling peach blossoms. The EPD also encourages the public to replant other small plants, such as tangerines, and store decorations for reuse.

In addition, the recently concluded Natural Christmas Tree Recycling Programme, the authorities collected about 3,000 natural Christmas trees, reducing the amount of garden waste sent to landfills by about 30 tonnes, which is similar to the amount collected in previous years.
