A fatal traffic accident occurred in Ha Village, Yuen Long. At 6:35 am today (27th), it was reported that two garbage trucks were driving along Tin Ha Road towards Lau Fau Shan. The woman was caught under the car and waved to the driver.
The driver got out of the car to check that the accident occurred. The 81-year-old victim was seriously injured and lay down on the front wheel of the garbage truck behind, leaving a lot of blood.
The firefighters rescued the old woman with tools, but unfortunately the victim died on the spot.
The son of the deceased attended the scene to learn about the incident.
Police are investigating the case and two garbage truck drivers have been arrested on suspicion of "dangerous driving causing death".
The Transport Department said at 7:25 a.m. that due to a traffic accident, the entire line from Tian Ha Road to and from Ping Ha Road was still closed.
Affected KMB Route 53, MTR Bus Routes K75A and K75P must be diverted.
Motorists should consider using other roads.
There is currently heavy traffic on the site.
