Tseung Kwan O Bus Depot collapsed, and two KMBs fell into the air.
At about 4:30 a.m. this morning (27th), two buses fell into a hole more than 4 meters deep. The tail wheel and rear of one of the vehicles were inserted into the hole and hung up at 45 degrees. The soil nearby was loose.
A KMB spokesman said that at the time of the incident, KMB staff found a subsidence in the parking lot in Tseung Kwan O, and the bodies of the two buses were damaged.
By morning, one of the buses had already left, and the other KMB was still hanging in the air and "trapped". The officers first stabilized the body, and then arranged for two heavy-duty cranes to straighten the bus, but it was still unsuccessful by noon.
It is understood that the KMB and NWFB depots were on the scene. The NWFB and KMB vehicles were parked in the open space. The location of the road subsidence was the junction of the two companies. As seen at the scene, there was a "washing machine" for cleaning buses near the subsidence. .
Enquiries have been made to the Highways Department regarding the incident "Hong Kong 01".
