Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko affirmed the depth of friendship between his country and Syria in various fields, describing them as historic and rooted, expressing Belarus' readiness to strengthen them.

Golovchenko said during his meeting today with the Syrian delegation participating in the meetings of the Syrian-Belarus joint committee headed by the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Suhail Abdul Latif: We are very interested in the situation in Syria .. and in the difficult times that it went through, we were very close to friendly Syria and provided support to the Syrian people.

Golovchenko expressed his admiration for the courage, steadfastness and struggle of the Syrian people in the face of terrorism, and said: We are glad that you showed courage and patience and faced all external difficulties and pressures, pointing out that Syria is now going through a stage of work to stabilize the general situation in the country and rebuild what was destroyed by the terrorists and their sponsors.

In turn, Minister Abdel Latif stressed the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries, stressing the need to strengthen them in various fields, expressing Syria's high appreciation for Belarus' supportive stance in its war against terrorism, and its denunciation of all foreign schemes that try to undermine Belarus' sovereignty and interfere in its internal affairs.

Abdul Latif expressed his aspiration, through the work of the joint government committee, to enhance the level of relations between the two countries in the economic and trade fields, in line with the advanced political relations between them.

He also expressed Syria's appreciation for the humanitarian aid that Belarus sends to the Syrian people.

The meeting was attended by the Syrian ambassador to Belarus, Muhammad Al-Amrani.

Yesterday, in Belarus, the meetings of the eighth session of the Syrian-Belarus Joint Intergovernmental Committee for Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation began in the presence of the delegations of the two countries. The Syrian side is headed by Minister Abdul Latif, and Dmitry Bantos, head of the State Committee for Military Industries on the part of Belarus.
