Bitter corona record in Erding: 1015 new infections in one day

This is the absolute – sad – daily record for nine corona infections in the Erding district: 1015 on Thursday alone, reports district office spokeswoman Daniela Fritzen.

Erding - The newly affected are between 0 and 98 years old and come from Erding (341), Dorfen (104), Moosinning (70), Taufkirchen (57), Bockhorn (53), Oberding (40), Forstern (34), Lengdorf (34), Wartenberg (33), Eitting (29), Finsing (27), Isen (21), Walpertskirchen (21), Neuching (19), St. Wolfgang (17), Wörth (17), Hohenpolding (16 ), Pastetten (15), Berglern (12), Fraunberg (11), Langenpreising (9), Buch am Buchrain (8), Inning am Holz (8), Ottenhofen (7), Kirchberg (6) and Steinkirchen (6) . 

This means that the total number of SarsCoV2 cases has jumped over 20,000 for the first time since the pandemic began two years ago. After the incidence had fallen for two days and was almost stable on Thursday (1368.7), it should move towards 2000 in the next few days.

The spokeswoman explains this high number: "There is no special outbreak." What is striking, however, is that significantly more PCR tests have been carried out in the past ten days - over 6300. In the same period before that there were only just over 5000 .

The omicron mutation is thus continuing to spread rapidly in the district.

Although significantly fewer infected people become more seriously ill, the admission of Covid patients to the Erdinger Klinikum has been increasing slightly for days.

There were 13 on Thursday.

However, only one of them is still in the intensive care unit, which also needs to be artificially ventilated.

The number of people currently infected and those subject to quarantine has also reached new highs: 3264 and 5339 respectively. This now also includes a three-digit number of daycare and school children from 22 facilities.

Vaccination is progressing – again – at a much slower pace.

According to Fritzen, there were only 619 cans on Wednesday.

Around Christmas there were sometimes twice as many.

That is why the vaccination rate continues to make little progress.

In view of only 68.8 percent, Corona remains a risk even with Omikron in the district.
