As part of the expansion of the Munich Wasserburg regional train line, the Ebersberg CSU/FDP city council group would like a stop in Oberndorf near Ebersberg.

They intend to submit a motion at the next council meeting.

Ebersberg

- The CSU/FDP city council faction asks that the following application be considered at the next meeting of the city council or the responsible committee for the construction of a stop on the Munich Wasserburg RB 48 regional railway line in Oberndorf.

The railway line between Munich and Wasserburg is to be electrified.

Application of the CSU/FDP

The city of Ebersberg supports and demands the construction of a new stop in Oberndorf in connection with the expansion of the Munich-Wasserburg railway line (RB 48).

The eastern area of the site on the route running from east to west seems to be best suited for this.

The administration is instructed to contact the district of Ebersberg as the authority responsible for general public transport and to express their willingness to realize another stop in Oberndorf to the Bavarian Railway Company (BEG).

The administration is also commissioned to support and vigorously promote the examination of the legal requirements for the construction of a new traffic station.

In this context, it should also be examined whether and how a P+R car park can be set up in the immediate vicinity of a bus stop in order to ensure the necessary frequency of 100 entries and exits.

Any landowners affected should be included in the considerations as early as possible.

Justification of the request

Years ago there was already a stop in Oberndorf, but it was closed as part of the demolition or closure of numerous railway facilities.

In the age of climate protection, in which local public transport must undoubtedly be expanded and promoted in order to achieve the necessary climate goals, it is also important to connect rural areas to the public transport network in order to be able to make an attractive offer to as many people as possible.

In Oberndorf there is a public school, a kindergarten, a crèche and a hotel and inn with 48 guest rooms and approx. 250 seats, the accessibility of which would be significantly increased with an additional stop in Oberndorf.

Therefore, it is very likely that the necessary number of at least 100 boarding and alightings per day would be achieved, especially if there is also a parking space as an interface between individual and local public transport at the stop.

In this context, several charging stations for e-cars should also be set up.
