The long walls, sad as a day without bread, run along the rue du Cherche-Midi, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris.
Going around it, the pedestrian ends up arriving at 110, rue de Vaugirard where, above a worn door, is the inscription
"Monastery of the Visitation"

The door is closed, and time seems to be suspended there.

On either side of the entrance, large signs announce the granting of a
"modifying building permit"

Abandoned in 2010 by the visitandines - an order whose mission is to visit the sick and the poor - the place is the subject of a major work project carried out by the diocese of Paris, aimed at creating a center for social and pastoral welcome.
Called Maison Marguerite Marie, it arouses not in substance, but in form, fierce opposition from local residents, heritage preservation associations and the Greens, in the person of the EELV district councilor, Antoinette Kis.
