On the register of visitors to the Auschwitz camp, the long message from Jean Castex ends with these few words:
“Barbarism and the springs that lead to it must always find us across their path.
It is the very condition of our humanity.”
Present Thursday in Poland for the 77th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi camp, the Prime Minister warned against the resurgence of anti-Semitism at a time when
“the witnesses of the Shoah are disappearing”.
At the end of his visit, he paid tribute to the
“76,000 Jews from France deported during the Second World War with the active complicity of the French State”.
