It was the sister of the individual who called for help while taking refuge with the neighbours.
When the emergency services discovered the body of the forties lying in the apartment, the suspect had already left the scene, the prosecution told AFP.
The gendarmerie arrested the attacker during the day, wandering the streets of the village.
An investigation has been opened.
