Landsberg/Kaufering – After evidence was secured in the practice of a doctor in Kaufering a year ago, the Augsburg public prosecutor's office has now brought charges of issuing incorrect health certificates.
The doctor now has one month to comment on the charges.
According to the indictment, the 58-year-old is said to have issued incorrect certificates in 117 cases, which certify that the person concerned does not have to wear a mouth and nose protector for health reasons, press spokeswoman for the district court of Landsberg Sabine Grub informs.
The indictment had been served on the defendant, who now had one month to comment.
"Then the responsible judge decides whether the lawsuit will be admitted and whether the proceedings will be opened," says Grub.
Evidence was seized by the criminal police in January 2021 after three months of investigations in the practice in Kaufering.
The account of the doctor and homeopath was seized and a temporary professional ban was issued, but the 58-year-old is now practicing again.
In June there was a case at the district court against one of the recipients of the certificate.
Although the doctor from Kaufering was summoned as a witness, he ultimately did not have to testify because he might have incriminated himself by making a statement.
