The Libyan Ministry of Interior announced today the killing of 3 security personnel and 4 ISIS terrorists during clashes in the Jabal Asida area near the town of Qatroun in southwestern Libya.
The ministry said in a statement carried by Libyan media that members of the terrorist organization (ISIS) attacked a patrol of the security forces near Jabal Asida, west of the town of Qatroun, killing three of its members.
The statement added that the security patrols in the region, with the support of the supporting forces, were able to eliminate four members of the organization (ISIS) and destroy a vehicle they were traveling in, indicating that efforts to pursue the remnants of the terrorists are still continuing.
The statement explained that the group affiliated with ISIS that appeared in the southwest of the country "aims to destabilize the security and intimidate the safe," stressing that the security authorities are working to lay the foundations for the security of the homeland and the citizen and are determined to combat terrorism in all its forms.
