Rottach-Egern – When the Feldstraße in Rottach-Egern is renovated, new street lamps are to be installed at the same time.

Now there were suggestions from the E-Werk Tegernsee.

The Feldstraße in Rottach-Egern is to be renovated.

The local councils have already decided that.

Recently, the street lighting in the area including the parking lot at the tennis court and Voitlhof was an issue.

The technical director of the E-Werk Tegernsee, Frank Thinnes, presented the plans at the meeting.

So there are three sections that would be completely renewed, he explained.

There is also the option of temporarily switching off the lighting completely at night.

  • So-called technical lights are to be used on the sidewalk from Sonnenmoosstraße to Feldkreuz.

"This allows light pollution to be reduced to the necessary level," explained the expert.

  • From there to the carriage museum, classic street lights of the "Bavaria" type are planned.

Due to the adjacent parking lots and the playground, the scattered light is considered useful there.

  • After that, technical lights would be installed again up to the entrance to Wolfsgrubstrasse.

Local councilor Stefan Niedermaier (Blitz) then wanted to know whether it would also be possible to work with motion detectors.

Rather reluctantly, explained the expert from E-Werk, because then another technical element would have to be installed and serviced.

Therefore it would be better to define a certain time when the lights are switched off or dimmed.

Mayor Christian Köck thought the proposal was good, for example to protect insects and reduce light pollution.

He also positively emphasized the use of energy-saving LED lights.

Thomas Tomaschek (Greens) was also enthusiastic about the proposal and asked that this principle be applied to other lights in the future when they are replaced.

Councilor Anton Maier (CSU) was also interested in the radius of the lights.

This would be about 20 meters, explained Frank Thinnes, so the lights would shine about ten meters into the street area.

Anton Maier then remarked whether it would not be better to build this between the street and the footpath.

However, this is difficult to implement because you need all-round lights when the sidewalk is practically behind the lamp.

So this idea was discarded again.

In the end, the municipal councils unanimously decided to implement the proposal of the Tegernsee E-Werk.
