It must be said that the list of measures since 2014 responding to the recurring criticisms of employers on the cost of labor is impressive: tax credit for competitiveness and employment (CICE), responsibility pact, transformation of the CICE into a permanent reduction in contributions, “zero charge” measure at the minimum wage level in October 2019… Formula a bit abusive because employer contributions – these are old-age contributions – still represent 6.69% of gross salary for employees on the minimum wage.
Apart from a few parliamentarians in need of controversy and despite regular protests from industrialists, these questions of cost-competitiveness no longer seem to interest many people lately.
Until the presidential campaign puts them back in the spotlight.
