Roubaix and triumphant Islamism have been in the news since the broadcast of a documentary forbidden zone on M6. Yet nothing new under the grayness of the North. Nothing new in France and I am still taken aback by our ability to be moved by a situation that we know only too well. Is the collective memory failing? Or a need to frighten oneself with what has already been denounced many times. Roubaix, yes, must face Islamism. France in some of its neighborhoods is only a vague memory. Roubaix, like too many cities and suburban districts, is also the fruit of the abandonment of assimilation.
An assimilation which nevertheless was a chance for those who took the step, certainly difficult and long, but the only way to establish roots in the nation and build a lasting future.

Many, however, have stigmatized assimilation to discredit it.
The same people who today are surprised at the intolerable excesses of the republican pact and the French nation.

It's hard to accept, but that's the way it is.
Many young people who practice it have French nationality.
The failure is that of the Islam of France over which Islamism in France triumphed.
Assimilation will go above all through a return to basics and in particular to a rigorous and demanding school.
A school where French culture and its promotion as a vector of emancipation must be at the heart of the programs.
A school that promotes, as part of a course of republican citizenship, the values of the Republic and the French way of life.
From kindergarten where a child must understand that his country is France and his blue white red flag, to the terminal where an evaluation could be integrated into the baccalaureate, and a republican ceremony could be organized to mark the entry into the life of citizens assets.
This may seem caricatural but the minds who will think so do not know the extent of the damage among the youngest.
The children are already in rejection of France while
they are French and only know France.
The school of the Republic must develop a republican and patriotic counter discourse so that the nation and its cohesion survive in the decades to come throughout the territory.
Islamism goes hand in hand with delinquency, families are sometimes complicit, sometimes overwhelmed, the State would benefit from taking care of children and adolescents at the first signs of slipping into delinquency.
Being away from the neighborhood from Monday to Friday to study, find the right path and open up a horizon other than the street and its vices would be beneficial for the child, his family and the whole nation.
