An indictment will be filed in the Nazareth District Court today (Thursday) against a suspect in the murder of Rasha Sitawi, owner of a beauty salon and mother of three children who was divorced, from the town of Marar.

Sitawi, was shot about two months ago - on the day of the international fight against violence against women, while helping her 10-year-old daughter with homework.

MDA staff found her unconscious, and was forced to determine her death on the spot.



According to police, the killer arrived at the village riding a scooter he had purchased the day before. The 10th knowing that the killer would not hit her, but the killer did not respond to the mother's pleas and despite the girl's screams, murdered the deceased with three gunshots.



Police were called to the scene by neighbors, who heard gunshots.

MDA paramedic Khaled Zoabi said that MDA staff entered the apartment together with the police forces.

"The woman lay unconscious and with penetrating injuries to her body," he described.

"We performed medical tests on her but she was without signs of life and we had to determine her death on the spot."

After the murder, the suspect fled on the scooter, and arrived at a B&B in the town of Kinneret, where his girlfriend was waiting for him.

After the police investigation and gathering of evidence, an indictment was filed against the suspect for murder, through the prosecution Idit Amir and Marina Rosenfeld in the Nazareth District Court.



Northern District Commander Superintendent Shimon Lavi said that "the success of Central Unit investigators gathering enough evidence today leads to a serious indictment against a brutal murderer whose mother kills in front of her little daughter proves once again our hard work and commitment to solving crimes in Arab society using all means available to us." .



According to the Aman Center, the 32-year-old woman has been the 116th murdered woman in Arab society since the beginning of the year, and the 15th woman murdered.

In all of 2020, the number of murders was 113.
