Road users should be prepared for some traffic obstructions in and around Bad Tölz from this Friday afternoon (January 28th).
The reason: the Isar bridge on the bypass will be closed from 2 p.m. to around 6 a.m. on Monday morning.
Bad Tölz – The closure of the Tölzer Isar Bridge from this Friday afternoon (January 28) to Monday morning applies to all motor vehicle traffic.
Only pedestrians and cyclists can use the temporary footpath and cycle path.
Diversion takes place in town via Bockschützstraße
The diversion for both directions of travel takes place within the city via Bockschützstraße, the municipal bridge over the Isar, the Kapellengaststeig to connect Lenggrieser Straße to the federal highway 13 south of the Moraltpark.
The detour route is signposted.
The bridge has been under construction for months
The bridge has been under construction for months.
According to the Weilheim State Building Authority, four new crossbeams will be concreted this weekend on the underside of the bridge between the two longitudinal beams.
This lasts until around 8 p.m. on Friday.
Depending on time and temperature, the strength of the concrete increases until Monday night to such an extent that traffic can roll over the bridge again at 6 a.m. on January 31.
Even a truck could cause irreparable damage
For structural reasons, however, traffic weighing more than 3.5 tons may not be driven on the bridge while the concrete is hardening.
"Since the diversion of traffic over 3.5 tons cannot be guaranteed with 100 percent certainty from a traffic point of view and even a 40-ton truck on the bridge would cause irreparable damage to the crossbeams, the Weilheim State Building Authority decided to to completely close the bridge during this time," says a press release.
On average, around 16,000 vehicles roll over the bridge every day
The almost 133 meter long Isar bridge of the B 472 was built in 1981.
On average, around 16,000 vehicles use the B 472 every day. (tk)
