NEWS - The Sochaux manufacturer will deliver 395 units of its 225 hp plug-in hybrid SUV 3008 to the National Gendarmerie.

The Ministry of the Interior continues to renew the fleet of police forces and the National Gendarmerie.

After having equipped the Police and the Gendarmerie with Peugeot 5008 and placed an order for Alpine A110 berlinettas for the rapid intervention brigades, the public authorities will supply 395 copies of the Peugeot3008 to the Gendarmerie.

Specific to this fleet, it is exclusively made up of the entry-level plug-in hybrid model delivering 225 hp.

This engine combines the 180 hp 1.6-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine with a 110 hp electric machine installed at the front and powered by a 13.2 kWh battery.

Full battery, this SUV is able to travel up to 56 km in the silence of its electric propulsion.

The choice of the plug-in hybrid model does not fail to challenge.

Admittedly, through this order, the State certainly seeks to set an example, to participate in the greening of its fleets and in the ecological transition.

In view of the missions and uses of the Gendarmerie, it is very likely that the consumption approved at 1.2 l/100 km will be difficult to reproduce in real life and the 3008 may often go to the pump.

To reduce the fuel bill, the accumulators of the 3008 Hybrid will need to be regularly recharged.

Far from being obvious when we know that the infrastructures on the public space are largely deficient.

Before their delivery to the National Gendarmerie, the 3008 Hybrid 225 benefited from a specific layout at the bodybuilder EGP of Hordain.
