Fürstenfeldbruck – The owner family is planning to replace the outdated shopping center with a larger, modern new building including an underground car park.
The city wants to accommodate the owners and is proposing a change in the development plan for the area on Heimstättenstraße.
Underground car park and café instead of a gas station
According to the owner, the market is no longer viable in its current form.
With a sales area of 1,200 square meters, profitable operation is not possible in the long term.
Nevertheless, one wants to hold on to the location.
A two-storey new building with a total of 2,600 square meters of floor space as well as 500 square meters of storage and an underground car park is planned.
A drinks market is also to be accommodated on 750 square meters in the basement.
According to the plans, the gas station will be abandoned.
A café is to be built on the northern edge of the Alpenstrasse.
Councilors praise and suggestions
The submitted plans were unanimously welcomed by the building committee. It is
"important to maintain a supply center in this district,"
said the committee chairman and second mayor
Christian Stangl
(Greens).
Franz Höfelsauer
(CSU) is pleased "
that the cars can be taken from the parking lot to an underground car park."
This would also "
improve the quality of stay in the entire area
", agrees parliamentary colleague
Andreas Lohde
.
Alexa Zierl
(ÖDP) suggested covering the bike parking spaces planned instead of the parking spaces and BBV parliamentary group leader
Christian Götz
praised the intention to include a café in the plans.
This is "
important now that Café Rieger no longer exists
." There were
"not enough social meeting places there anyway
."
No "closed box" desired
The head of the building authority, Johannes Dachsel
,
reiterated the importance of a local supply center "that can be reached on foot", but recommends attaching conditions to the basic resolution presented.
"You can't put a closed box there."
So the building was to be constructed of wood, with a large glass front facing Heimstättenstrasse and a photovoltaic system on the roof.
In addition, the roof areas should be greened.
Examination for apartments
Mirko Pötzsch
(SPD) wants to have it checked whether additional apartments can be built.
"With the appropriate architecture, this should be possible." The traffic officer also calls for a small path to be created from Jägerstrasse onto the site, otherwise "people from this area would have to go completely outside."
Start of construction possibly in two years
Further planning is to be supported by a specialist advisory board that has yet to be set up.
Construction could start in two years.
