More than 12,000 people took part in the "digital ballot" to choose the look of the future T1 tram trains that will replace the ma

This will be option 2!

Transport users who had the opportunity to vote on the Internet to choose the "design" of the front face of the future T1 tramway trains (Asnières (92)/Noisy-le-Sec (93)) were mainly in favor of the second of the three proposals put forward by Ile-de-France Mobilités, the transport organizing authority in the region: the one where the "nose" of the tramway is highlighted by a lit strip which extends on the sides of the train.

It displays "a reassuring line that is part of the continuity, like a real luminous link between the territories", underlines IDFM at the conclusion of the consultation organized on the Internet.

This online ballot was not the first.

For several years, the regional transport regulatory authority has systematically solicited Internet users when ordering new rolling stock to offer them the possibility of choosing, themselves, “a few” aesthetic elements on future trains.

A way for users to take ownership of their future means of daily transport.

Prior to the "T1" operation, similar consultations have thus been set up in recent months to decide on the look of the new RER B trains or the trains of all the lines of the future Ile-de-France super-metro (15, 16, 17 and 18).

In the case of the renewal of the T1 trains, Internet users had 15 days to vote on a dedicated Internet page. 12,500 Ile-de-France residents took part in the ballot, which ended last Friday at midnight… Well ahead of the commissioning of future cars on the tram line. The 37 new trains that Ile-de-France Mobilités has ordered from the manufacturer Alstom (to replace the current aging cars) will only be deployed from 2024.

With more capacity (by nearly 15%) than current trains, future T1s will also be equipped with new equipment to improve passenger comfort (air conditioning, USB sockets, LED lighting, etc.) and an on-board passenger counting system by flow to more accurately measure the use of the line.

With 62 million journeys recorded in 2019, the T1 ranks 2nd among the most frequented trams in the region.

The line, the first section of which has been in operation since 1992, must still be extended, to the south, to Montreuil (93) in 2026 and then possibly to Fontenay-sous-Bois (94).
