"You know what ? We don't care about your mediocre linguistic escapades. For your pain, the word of tomorrow is: XXXXX”, sent this robot account to the players.

Twitter suspended on Wednesday January 26 a robot account that insulted the players of the now famous “Wordle” and revealed to them the solution of the next day.

This online word game, which offers only one puzzle per day, has conquered millions of people.

But the @wordlinator profile seemed determined to spoil the fun for those sharing their score on Twitter.

He was "

suspended for violating Twitter's rules on automated profiles and for sending

," said a spokesperson for the platform, contacted by the AFP.

The robot account automatically responded to players who published their score with this type of message: “

You know what?

We don't care about your mediocre linguistic escapades.

For your trouble, the word for tomorrow is: XXXXX

”.

Violation of Twitter policies

Twitter has said it does not tolerate its platform tools being used to annoy other users.

Its rules specify in particular that mentions, replies and unsolicited, aggressive and bulk direct messages may lead the platform to suspend or close the accounts concerned.

The game consists of finding a five-letter secret word in six tries, comparable to the principle of the late France Télévisions game show, “Motus”, or the board game “Mastermind”.

Although only available on the web (and not in the form of a mobile application), it was adopted very quickly and widely, in particular thanks to the function of sharing the score on the networks, which hides the solution.

It is likely that the individual responsible for the @wordlinator account found the winning words simply by looking at the website's computer code.

"

But what kind of sick, evil person can hate people having fun innocently enough to hack Wordle?"

Asked a player on Twitter on Tuesday.
