Drunk driving accident in Wan Chai.
At about 1:00 am today (28th), a private car was travelling east along Wan Chai Road. During the period, it was suspected that it violated traffic signs and turned left into Tin Lok Lane. When it drove to the junction of Tin Lok Lane and Hennessy Road, it hit a man who was crossing the road. The 54-year-old Filipino male passerby suffered injuries to his waist and feet. Fortunately, he was still awake and was sent to Ruttonjee Hospital for treatment.
The female driver of the private car surnamed Zhu (47 years old) was arrested on suspicion of "drinking and driving" after taking an alcohol breath test on the spot. She has been released on bail pending investigation and must report to the police in late February.
