Nobody expected it so quickly: On Friday morning, the Weilheim water management had several trees felled on the Kienbach, the roots of which destroyed the embankment.

Residents of Fischergasse and Kienbachstraße in Herrsching could not believe their eyes on Friday.
The word "tree massacre" was even mentioned.
They had just campaigned for the preservation of decrepit white willows, which are to be felled on Monday (we reported), and on Friday more trees were removed not far from the edge of the stream.
This time not at the behest of the community, but of the Water Management Office (WWA).
It was the announced immediate measure for the Kienbach renovation.
Herrsching
- consultant Johannes Haas admits that he assumed that there should only be two or three trees that had to be removed. The fall was not in his jurisdiction. However, since his colleagues were absent due to the corona, the matter ended up with him. Until then, he had known nothing about the upward correction.
The lower nature conservation authority has been informed, assures Haas in an interview with Starnberger Merkur.
A species protection test was carried out.
The local measure was necessary because tree roots had grown into the seawall at this point and it had crumbled.
"There was a risk of jamming," he says.
So there is a risk of the stream clogging.
Flooding could have caused the living area to overflow.
Unfortunately, the time is parallel to the other precipitation, which is now time-limited by law.
