The publication of this internal report written by senior civil servant Sue Gray on the farewell parties, garden parties and Christmas or birthday parties organized in the main residence of the Prime Minister in 2020 and 2021 keeps the press and the political class in suspense British. But the report is slow to be published, according to the press because of questions about what may appear in it while the police have in turn seized the scandal, announcing Tuesday to investigate several parties.

For the events under investigation by the Met, we have asked to make only a minimal reference to them in the report of the Cabinet Office

, the interdepartmental agency on which the work of Sue Gray depends, indicated the London Metropolitan Police in a brief statement.

The Met has not asked for any limitation on other events in the report, or for the report to be pushed back, but contacts are ongoing with the Cabinet office, including on the content of the report, to avoid any prejudice to our investigation.

“, she added.

These parties have plunged Boris Johnson into a serious crisis which threatens his retention in his post.

Many MPs from his own Conservative camp are waiting for the publication of the internal report to decide whether or not to try to oust him through a vote of no confidence.

Speculation is rife about when the findings will be released.

They were initially expected on Wednesday, but could finally not be released until next week, according to the media.

Asked about Sky News, the Secretary of State for Technology, Chris Philp, said Downing Street had not yet received the document on Friday morning.
