Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Bassam Sabbagh, stressed that what Al-Hasakah witnessed during the past few days is an inevitable result of the wrong and hostile approach adopted by some Western countries towards Syria since 2011. occupied.

Sabbagh said during a session of the Security Council today, held at the request of Russia, that the city of Hasaka has been subjected to bloody events for days, which began with the detonation of a car bomb by ISIS terrorists at the entrance to the industrial secondary school building in the Ghweran neighborhood, which the American occupation forces had turned into a detention center under the supervision of a militia. In the wake of the attack, the SDF stormed the neighborhood and its surroundings, while the US occupation warplanes violently bombed the vicinity of the detention center, which led to casualties among innocent citizens, including children and women, and a wave of mass displacement of tens of thousands of people in the area and causing destruction. Severe damage was caused to a large number of homes and civil and service facilities, including the headquarters of the “Sadcop” fuel company, Al-Basel Bakery, Al-Furat University, an educational institute, the municipal garage, and others.

Sabbagh stressed that what Al-Hasakah witnessed is an inevitable result of the wrong and hostile approach adopted by some Western countries towards Syria since 2011 until now, and the result of a number of grave violations of the principles of international law and the provisions of the United Nations Charter by successive US administrations and their allies who bypassed the Security Council by resorting to an interpretation of distorted the text of Article 51 of the United Nations Charter to form an illegitimate alliance of their own without the consent or coordination of Syria, pointing out that the irony is that some of the countries participating in this alleged alliance have recruited thousands of foreign terrorists and facilitated their arrival to Syria and provided them with various forms of support to spread terror and chaos and exercise Killing, destruction, and destabilizing security and stability. At the same time, these countries prevented the Security Council from responding to Syria’s repeated demands to form a legitimate international coalition under the umbrella of the United Nations to combat terrorism and support its efforts to confront this threat and ensure the full implementation of Security Council resolutions and international instruments.related to.

Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations explained that the United States used the pretext of combating terrorism to target Syrian infrastructure and civilian facilities, including schools, health centers, dams and bridges, and destroyed the entire city of Raqqa on the heads of its residents. The organization managed to control new sites, as was the case in Jabal Al-Thardah in Deir ez-Zor in 2016.

Sabbagh pointed out that the American occupation forces regularly carried out transfers of ISIS terrorists from detention centers to their illegal military bases in Syria with the aim of recycling and using them to implement their plans. Last April, these forces trained and transferred about 100 terrorists to the Al-Omar oil field, which It is controlled and, last June, it transferred more than 60 terrorists from the detention center in the industrial secondary school to its illegal base in the city of Al-Shaddadi in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah.

Sabbagh stressed that the events of the past few days related to the storming of the detention center in the industrial secondary by the elements of the terrorist organization “ISIS” and the timing of its occurrence clearly aim to recycle the terrorist organization and find pretexts for the continued illegal presence of US forces on Syrian territory, their continued interference in internal affairs, their looting of Syrian resources and support for separatist militias. It works to displace the Arab population of the area.

Sabbagh explained that according to United Nations reports, approximately 70,000, mostly women and children, are detained in the camps of Al-Hol, Al-Arish, Al-Roj and others, which are controlled by the separatist "Qasd" militia backed by the American occupation. By militia that snatch children as young as 12 from their mothers to fight within their ranks.

Sabbagh pointed out that what happened in the city of al-Hasakah confirms the correctness of Syria's demands to close camps and detention centers, which have turned into hotbeds for spreading ideas of extremism and violence, and the need for the concerned countries to return its terrorists and their families to their countries of origin or countries of residence, ensuring their accountability and rehabilitating their children again. Syria's condemnation of the attempts of some Western countries Abstaining from its responsibilities towards its terrorist nationals, its refusal to take them back, revoking their nationalities, canceling their passports and preventing them from entering the country, in addition to its categorical refusal to engage the governments of some countries in suspicious deals with the separatist “Qasd” militia that exploits its detention by foreign terrorists and members of their families to achieve private and selfish gains.

Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations indicated that Syria's efforts, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross, succeeded in returning many terrorists and their families to their countries of origin, in coordination and cooperation with the governments of those countries, including Russia, China, Albania, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Sudan, Egypt, South Africa and others, which requires the other concerned countries to follow suit. With this approach and work with Syria to recover its nationals from the terrorists and their families.

Sabbagh stressed that the implementation of Security Council resolutions cannot be selective or based on double standards. Restoring security and stability in Syria requires first and foremost ensuring Syria's sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity, which is what all Council resolutions related to the situation in Syria stipulated, in addition to the necessity of The immediate withdrawal of the American and Turkish occupation forces from Syrian territory.
