The workshops and mechanisms of the Technical Services Directorate in Tartous governorate continued to work on opening roads in areas where snow had accumulated, especially in the mountainous areas in the governorate’s countryside.

And the director of technical services in Tartous, Engineer Ahmed Suleiman, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the directorate’s workshops and mechanisms carried out today the works of clearing the roads and opening them for cars to deliver bread to the villages of Al-Kursa, Al-Tahira and Al-Raqma in the Sheikh Badr, Nahl Al-Jard and Khirbet Al-Sindiya areas in Baniyas, Ain Al-Dahab, Al-Bireh, Hilata, Al-Qala’a, Al-Qala’a and Beit Khaddam in the area. Al-Draikish, Kafr Gawaya, Al-Nabi Saleh and Basira Al-Jard station in the Safita area, pointing out that all the main roads in the governorate remain passable, and the secondary roads that will be removed from snow tomorrow.

Director of the branch of the Syrian Trade Establishment Salem Nasser indicated in a similar statement that precautionary measures were taken several days before the snow fell, as flour and mazut were distributed to bakeries in areas where snow is expected to fall enough for days, and bread was sent to Arwad Island for three days in anticipation of the weather.
