Corona case in the Cologne triumvirate: Bauer Gereon (Gereon Glasemacher) tested positive for Corona.

Cologne – First the prince, now the farmer: there is another corona case in the Cologne triumvirate.

Bauer Gereon (Gereon Glasemacher) tested positive for Corona.

This was announced by the Cologne Carnival Festival Committee on Friday.

The corona infection was noticed during a routine test on Thursday.

Cologne Carnival 2022: Bauer Gereon has Corona – appointments without him

Prince Sven I (Sven Oleff) and Jungfrau Gerdemie (Dr. Björn Braun) and all accompanying persons were also tested for Corona.

The PCR tests were negative.

For this weekend, that means: Prince and Virgin will attend the upcoming appointments without Bauer Gereon.

"All members of the triumvirate and their companions are fully vaccinated and boosted and are therefore not subject to the quarantine obligation," announced the festival committee on Friday (January 28).

In addition, they are tested daily.

According to the festival committee, farmer Gereon has “so far only had a slight cold and no other symptoms”.

He immediately went into quarantine and separated himself at home from his wife and everyone else involved.

The trio saw each other for the last time on Sunday, January 23rd.

"Since the last contact with Gereon was five days ago and all other PCR tests were negative, the performances with Sven I. and Jungfrau Gerdemie can fortunately take place," says Festival Committee President Christoph Kuckelkorn.

It is already the second Corona case in this carnival session.

Just before November 11th.

Prince Sven I. also tested positive for Corona.

All dates of the trio were canceled for the start of the session in November.

Cologne Carnival despite Corona: How can Carnival 2022 take place?

The Cologne Carnival will take place again in 2022 with restrictions.

It is not yet completely clear how to celebrate.

One thing is certain: Corona will have a major impact on the carnival this year.

For example, the Rose Monday parade in Cologne will not take place as usual.

In addition, many events have already been canceled – including numerous meetings.
