Many people who are waiting for their shipments are familiar with delivery delays or undelivered packages.

But no one expected this reason for the delay.

• Parcel carriers really don't have an easy job.

• Deliveries are often not delivered or are delayed.

• Nobody expected this honest information from a DHL messenger about the delay, which has been circulating on the Internet since at least 2020.

• There are also doubts about the authenticity of the note.

You order something online, sit at home and wait for your package.

You sit in your living room for hours and can't wait to put on your new shoes or read the new bestseller.

You wait and wait - in vain.

Because the doorbell just doesn't ring.

After a while you go to the mailbox and find a note from the responsible delivery service.

"Recipient was not at home, the parcel could not be delivered" or "Delivery in progress, you will be notified when you can pick it up at the Parcel Shop" are just two classic messages.

It is particularly annoying when the note says: "The package could not be delivered and will be returned to the sender."

As often as something like this may happen, it is still not the norm.

The delivery services have specially prepared forms for the messages in order to be able to state the reason for the non-delivery.

In addition to "Shop closed", "No money for delivery on" or "Wrong address/not found", the parcel carriers also have the option of stating a specific reason for the delay.

But you rarely see such a reason.

A DHL parcel carrier allegedly stated that the delay in delivery was that he had simply forgotten the package.

Certainly not very satisfactory, but at least honest.

The DHL note is not new, but it is probably one of the most bizarre of its kind on the web, which is why we are showing it to you. Many months ago it was posted on the "Best of Paketzusteller" Instagram page. There, users agree in the comments: they find the message extremely amusing. "At least he/she is honest," wrote the site itself, along with two laughing smileys. "Are only human," it also says. And: "If he's real, then respect, that he was so honest can also happen, you mustn't forget that a human is working there and not a robot."

"Funny, I work at DHL and I don't recognize this note.

I have never seen.

Neither with us, nor during my time in mail delivery,” he explains.

But if someone fakes such a note?
