As reported by the fire brigade and police, the accident on the A3 occurred as follows: around 9 p.m., a caller alerted the rescue control center in Frankfurt.

Several firefighters and the rescue service immediately set off.

Two other cars were also involved in the accident.

They had to be freed by the rescue workers with "heavy, technical rescue equipment" and were taken to a clinic with serious injuries.

The driver of a car was able to get out of his car with minor injuries.

He was also taken to a hospital as a precaution.
