The incident happened at about 6 am yesterday. An 85-year-old woman surnamed Zhuang was out and about 10 meters away from her home when she was hit by an environmental protection truck outsourced by the FEHD. A passerby motioned to the driver to stop.
The driver got out of the car to check that the accident happened. The female victim was seriously injured and lay down on the left rear wheel of the car, leaving behind a lot of blood.
As for the white garbage truck ahead, it has left, and was notified to return to the scene after the incident.
The firefighters used tools to rescue the old woman trapped under the car, but unfortunately the victim died on the spot.
The police later arrested two outsourced garbage truck and environmental protection truck drivers from the FEHD. It is not ruled out that the old woman was pushed over by the garbage truck first, and then was run into the bottom of the vehicle by the environmental protection truck.
The Special Investigation Team of Traffic New Territories North is following up the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has information to provide, please contact the investigators at 36613800.
