Horse kicks and hits 18-year-old in the head - skull fracture

During a riding lesson in Garching, a horse kicked backwards and severely hit an 18-year-old in the head.
The young woman was taken to the hospital by rescue helicopter.

– A serious riding accident occurred on Thursday around 6 p.m. in the hall of a riding school in Garching.
According to the police, a 13-year-old girl from Munich, holding a horse by the halter, was preparing to leave the hall in the middle.
Since the lesson change in the riding school was pending, an 18-year-old from Munich, who was leading a pony, came into the hall at the same time as part of the following group with two other riding students and two supervisors.

According to the current state of investigation, the 18-year-old did not lead the pony along the edge of the hall as usual, but instead oriented herself more towards the middle.
She led the pony past the 13-year-old's horse.
The 13-year-old tried to warn by shouting loudly - too late.
The horse stepped backwards and caught the 18-year-old on the head.
Skull fracture - rescue helicopter brings injured to the hospital
The young woman fell to the ground, badly injured and unconscious.
Caregivers immediately provided first aid.
The 18-year-old received emergency medical treatment on site and was taken to a hospital by rescue helicopter for inpatient treatment.
According to the police, she has suffered a skull fracture, but is not in mortal danger.
The Munich traffic police are investigating this case.
