Nothing works after Friday evening, 10:30 p.m.

From then on, the main line of the Munich S-Bahn between Hackerbrücke and Ostbahnhof is totally closed.

Here is an overview of the replacement timetable.

Munich - It is the lifeline of the state capital and the fastest east-west connection for all Munich residents.

The S-Bahn trunk line in Munich is one of the busiest railway lines in Europe.

At peak times, an S-Bahn runs in each direction every 90 seconds, Deutsche Bahn calculates in a press release.

For the tracks, however, this means a high load.

How long is the main route in Munich closed?

That is why DB has to completely replace nine kilometers of track.

The main route of the Munich S-Bahn between Hackerbrücke and Ostbahnhof will be completely closed from Friday (January 28) at 10:30 p.m. until Monday (January 31) at 4:40 a.m.

The same applies to the first weekend of February (February 4th to 7th).

Alternatively, buses run between Ostbahnhof and Donnersbergerbrücke.

According to DB, on Saturdays they run every 7 minutes until around 9:30 p.m., otherwise every 10 to 15 minutes.

At night from around midnight, the SEV is extended to Pasing.

As an alternative route, the U5 runs regularly between Hauptbahnhof and Ostbahnhof.

However, this is not amplified.

In addition, tram 19, which runs parallel to the main route, is on the road with additional trips between Pasing and Ostbahnhof on order of the S-Bahn.

When will the second regular route actually be finished?

Many people in Munich are wondering when the second regular route will finally be finished.

An answer is not that simple.

According to Markus Söder, 2028 is currently the opening date.

It remains to be seen, however, whether the date can be kept.

There is currently a huge rescheduling in the room.
